IDCA Meets Government of Nigeria About Digital Economy

Abuja, Nigeria, October 27 2025 – The International Data Center Authority (IDCA) delegation led by IDCA Chairman and CEO Mehdi Paryavi has met with the Nigerian government the discuss the nation's evolving Digital Economy. The IDCA delegation visited Nigeria on special invitation to meet key national agencies and stakeholders. During this visit, meetings were held with numerous key public offices and officials.

Some of the publicly announced meetings were meetings with His Excellency, the Minister of Budget and Planning, and His Excellency Director General, and Chief Information Technology Officer of Nigeria.

“The meetings that took place were game-changing for Nigeria,” stated Solomon Edun, Head of Europe and Africa at IDCA. “We believe that together with IDCA Nigeria will become a digital powerhouse by leveraging the nation's abundant human capital and natural resources to produce outstanding digital economic results.”

“Ensuring that there is an ecosystem of trust and growth is critical for what we want to do in terms of investments in Nigeria,” according to Moncef Heddad, IDCA's Global Head of Strategic Investments. “Our discussions enable Nigeria to streamline investments that we will help facilitate and flow through the forthcoming Nigerian data and AI center hubs.”

During this visit IDCA's Chairman Mehdi Paryavi was invited to speak at a gala event hosted by the Ministry of Defense of Nigeria for a soccer match between Spanish powerhouse Barcelona and the Nigerian Legends team. The delegation was escorted as VIPs to the stadium for the match, followed by meetings with the players and sport authorities.

Nigeria's resources establish it as a key nation to watch on IDCA's Global Digital Readiness Index of Nations Index, per the organization's Global Digital Economy Report (2025). With its immense energy resources, vast terrain, and rich human capital that includes a willing and talented women and youth population, the nation stands at the brink of a major transformation through its collaboration with IDCA.
