IDCA Delegation Meets with the Greek Government on Digital Economy
Athens, Greece — The International Data Center Authority (IDCA) delegation met with the Greece authorities to explore the digital economy opportunities and the strategic cooperation between Greece and IDCA on national digital infrastructure, regional digital hub, and digital economy development.
The IDCA delegation included Mehdi Paryavi, Chairman and CEO, Roger Strukhoff, Chief Research Officer, Dr. Simona Marinescu, Economic Counsel, Moncef Haddad, Global Head of Investment, Solomon Edun, Global Head of Strategic Services, and Lizabeth Hood, Global Head of Education and Membership, as well as IDCA local partners and representatives, and was received by officials of the Minister of Digital Governance to discuss a potential framework for collaboration focused on strengthening Greece’s digital capabilities and long-term competitiveness.
The discussions centered on Greece’s digital transformation strategy, data center and cloud infrastructure development, AI readiness, cybersecurity, workforce development, and alignment with international digital infrastructure standards. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of resilient, sustainable digital infrastructure in supporting Greece’s economic growth and digital sovereignty.
“The goal of Greece is to create a balance between its sectors and play a defining role in the regional AI and data center marketplace, realizing our capabilities and limitations,” said the Minister of Digital Governance.
“IDCA sees Greece as a strategic gateway for digital infrastructure development in Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean, supported by a growing economy, capable human capital, strategic geography, and forward-looking digital governance,” said Mehdi Paryavi, Chairman & CEO of the International Data Center Authority.
The meeting marks an important step toward formal cooperation between Greece and IDCA, aimed at advancing national digital infrastructure initiatives, fostering innovation, and positioning Greece as a competitive digital hub within the broader European digital ecosystem.
