Vice Chair of Space ISAC and Former Director of National Cybersecurity FFRDC joins IDCA
Washington D.C., February 23rd, 2022: International Data Center Authority (IDCA) today announced that the Vice Chair of Space ISAC, Mr. Samuel Visner has joined the IDCA Technical Standards Committee. “The world is moving swiftly toward more global, cloud-based and virtual infrastructures. Combined with 5G (and the next-G that will follow) and innumerable IoT devices and smart enterprises, these infrastructures will need our best security thinking and collaboration. Joining the IDCA gives me the opportunity to work with other thought leaders in building a secure future”, stated Samuel Visner on the occasion of his joining the IDCA.
Rich Banta, DCA®, Chairman of IDCA Technical Standards Committee, stated, “Sam brings an in-depth background on the vital cybersecurity and satellite communication matters which we can tackle at the IDCA’s technical standards committee. Having him onboard will be a great step forward and in strengthening IDCA’s comprehensive coverage of cybersecurity and key satellite communication principles.”
Prior to becoming the deputy Chair at the Space ISAC, Samuel Visner served as the Director of National Cybersecurity FFRDC sponsored by NIST. Mr. Visner also serves as the Tech Fellow at MITRE, Advisory Board Member at Nodeware, and Adjunct Professor of Science and Technology at Georgetown University. In the past, Mr. Visner’s has also served as Member of AFCEA Intelligence Committee, Senior VP of SAIC, Official at the Government Accountability Office, and Senior Associate at Booz Allen.
