Former Director of Standards Coordination at NIST Joins IDCA
Washington, DC – August 27, 2025 – International Data Center Authority (IDCA) announces that Gordon Gillerman has joined IDCA. Gordon will Chair the Technical Committee, and lead IDCA’s standardization strategy. After 20 years of service with NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), most recently serving as the Director of the Standards Coordination Office and NIST Conformity Assessment Advisor, Gordon has joined IDCA to boost the standards development for the digital infrastructure industry.
While at NIST, Gordon led the development of the U.S. Government National Standards Strategy for Critical and Emerging Technology, authored the standards and conformity assessment provisions of the USMCA Trade Agreement (formally NAFTA), and designed the FedRAMP program for certification of cloud-computing service providers, among many other key projects. He is a recipient of numerous awards in standardization including ANSI’s Astin-Polk International Standards Medal, Department of Commerce and EPA Gold Medals, and The Society for Standards Professionals Leo B. Moore Medal.
“As a true leader in standardization, Gordon brings enormous new value to IDCA,” said IDCA Chairman and CEO Mehdi Paryavi in making the announcement. “With Gordon leading the IDCA Technical Committee, we have raised the bar for what it can accomplish, as it continues to address industry gaps by establishing a common language and a holistic framework for the design, operation, and compliance of digital infrastructure.”
“Working with IDCA presents a unique opportunity to be a part of standardization for the evolving infrastructure of the digital economy,” according to Gordon. “My extensive work in standardization will guide my efforts to collaborate with the IDCA’s Technical Committee and the data center technology community to build efficiency, innovation, and resilience in the rapidly evolving AI, cloud, data center industries and the digital economy sectors worldwide.”
