Pigment AI Embeds ChatGPT-type Bot Into Spreadsheets

Concerns from some quarters aside, a wholesale adoption of OpenAI's ChatGPT appears to be gaining momentum. The latest development comes from Pigment SAS, based in France, with its Pigment AI chatbot, to be placed inside of spreadsheets and financial dashboards.

Pigment AI is a way to automate common what-if questions and scenarios. Key features include data querying, pattern identification, smart insights, automated analysis and reporting, assisted modeling and scenario building, according to the company.

Pigment AI builds on the company's Pigment financial-planning platform, which is to be used by businesses to “collect accurate data in real-time and rely on one single source of truth,” the company says. “Pigment integrates with your existing tech stack to free your team from time-consuming data consolidation and data transfer errors.”

Pigment can be scheduled to handle large data imports and work within data lakes, work with ERP and accounting systems, look at cash balances in real time, identify payables and receivables, and work with sales revenue and expenses. A series of APIs enables customization, the company says.
