Building a better world for all...
Washington D.C., June 21, 2016: International Data Center Authority (IDCA) Committee members take a stand to testify as to the importance of their mission.
“I see the data center industry as lacking guidance, there’s no real standards on the way we do things, it’s like the Wild West out there” - Eric Windorf of LinkedIn
"Data center is build upon the application ecosystem. The application is king! If you don’t have the application, you really don’t need the data center. So if you are looking it holistically, and taking each step, your building a data center for a purpose. Your building the power and cooling for a purpose. What does your application need in terms of facility? What are your desires and controls within that environment? All that is answered within the IDCA." - Richard Zanatta of U.S. House of Representatives
"You have a bunch of individuals composing IDCA that are subject matter experts who are movers, shakers and doers." - Lance Walker of CHRISTUS Health
"The goal of IDCA is to bring the future of technology in the data center forward." - Marcus Falz of Verizon
"Standards become your worst enemy when they are a thing of the past. When they do not reflect the realities of today. But they are your best friend, when they are up-to-date." - Mehdi Paryavi of Chairman of IDCA
"The key elements of IDCA standards is this holistic approach which will allow us to address a myriad of concerns in the industry. Sometimes people don’t even understand the operation metrics of their own data centers. We’re going to give them the tools to do that." - Steve Hambruch, eBay
"It’s a gathering of people and gathering of knowledge that you are not going to get at any place." - Richard Zanatta, U.S. House of Representatives
"IDCA is providing the ultimate guide to the IT-driven organizations." - Tim Grant of MLB
"The technical standards committee will not only say what our standards need to be today, but will also look towards the future, and say here’s how you have to prep yourself for the future." - Rick Collins of AIG
"I joined IDCA because I truly believe that data should drive data centers and I want to be on the forefront of that shift and mindset for our industry." - Eric Wendorf of LinkedIn:
"Just look at the names of the companies these people work for, look at the years of experience we all have." - Rick Collins of AIG
"If there’s one thing that comes out of our effort, that would be the most personally rewarding to me, is the industry as a whole finally aligns on some common measurable and common understanding of what’s important and what isn’t so important, in terms of data center operations and management." - Steve Hambruch of eBay
