Chairman of Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce joins IDCA’s Board of Directors.
Building a better world for all...
Washington D.C., June 11, 2019: International Data Center Authority (IDCA) today announces that Joseph Yuen, Chairman of Hong Kong Federation of E-Commerce has joined IDCA’s Board of Directors.
“As the Chairman of Hong Kong's Federation of e-Commerce, I have joined IDCA's board of directors because, “Data" is the future and IDCA is the only organization that is addressing "data" with an open mind and an international preservative. To achieve this, IDCA is utilizing modern and "out of the box" principles that our industry needs and involves "all of us" to put our minds together and build a world of dialog and prosperity using our collective resources and ideas”, stated Joseph Yuen, Chairman of Hong Kong’s Federation of E-Commerce.
Mr. Yuen continued, “with the digital world connecting all of humankind, data does not just represent what we know of our past, but can also drives our future. Those with more access to effective data, will command the future. The Internet and increase of compute power over the last century have caused the world of information and the digital data increase tremendously. American giants are dominating the Internet and the data sciences since the 90s. However, as China takes the stand as world's no.1 e-commerce market, the gray firewall between the east and the west makes a bottleneck for data exchange and difficult to conduct safe trade. The world needs to have a neutral party that people in both east and west can trust, a party that can establish balance to ensure healthy communication, progressive developments, lucrative open commerce as well as safety and protection for all stakeholders of data. That party and that organization is IDCA.”
When asked about the joining of Joseph Yuen, Chairman of IDCA Board of Directors, Mr. Mehdi Paryavi, stated “Joseph bring him a geopolitical tactical diversity that our industry and our world can benefit from in a significant way. We are delighted to have him join IDCA's board of directors and have already made plans to build effective road-maps to connect the east and the west in absolute security and divine harmony.”
Joseph Yuen is one of the most influential members of the global IT community who is passion resides in bridging eastern and western hemispheres of the globe. “We have to be reminded that the 5G and Cloud technologies are the catalyst for the explosion of a seemingly slim problem. But the complexities are yet to unravel. We live in a world where we could generate the same amount of data in 2 years as it has in the last 20 years, and adding up. Smartphones and IoT devices are connecting almost every citizen on the planet. However, technology giants such as Google, Tencent, Facebook, Amazon, Alibaba, etc. offer free services in the exchange of centralizing data under their own control. As a result, any security leakage or trade wars between countries can cause enormous risk for the world's population. The impact is comparable to earthquake and Tsunami, as the increase adoption for e-commerce, e-Government, e-Cars, e-Education, e-Health and e-Life. These daily activities for the humanity and our civilizations cannot be all put in one basket and hosted with a hand-few top Internet companies at the mercy of their commercial interest, nor be isolated by political or economical moves. They belongs to every digital citizen and needed to be protected before a highly predictable crisis”, Mr. Yuen continued to say about his intension of joining IDCA’s Board of Directors.
Joseph Yuen concluded by saying, “as a leader in the digital world, it is my responsibility to alert the governments and industry in Asia Pacific region and bring the key players from the east and west together for the future of digital development and I have chosen IDCA as my platform for doing so.”
“The joining of the likes of Joseph Yuen and the explosive expansion and influence of IDCA in the heart and minds of professionals, corporates and nations alike is yet another testimony that IDCA is setout to help our world be a better place”, stated Farhad Mehraban, Director of Public Relations at the International Data Center Authority.
